Kafe Oransjeriet sits quietly on Avaldsnesgata in Stavanger, offering a calm yet inviting atmosphere that feels like a well-kept local secret, especially on quiet Sunday afternoons when the rest of the city slows down. The café’s large glass walls bathe the space in soft, natural light and provide a view onto a peaceful garden, making it an ideal spot for anyone looking to settle in with a book, catch up with friends, or focus on some work away from the usual hustle.

This spot clearly draws a crowd that appreciates thoughtfully prepared, plant-based fare alongside their coffee. Their tofu scramble and oyster mushrooms reflect a kitchen comfortable with cooking beyond the basics, appealing to those seeking flavorful vegetarian options. The kale Caesar salad is another offering that fits the health-conscious and flavour-focused crowd that visits here regularly.

Many local regulars and visitors alike seem to come for the coffee experience — the quality is often praised, as is the café’s consistency with drinks like matcha lattes, both iced and hot. It’s especially notable that the team serves up drinks with care, alongside snacks like chocolate banana bread that hold their own against the coffee. The mood inside is unpretentious yet lively enough to feel social without being noisy, making it a versatile place to visit whether you want to work quietly or chat with friends.

Kafe Oransjeriet also stands out for its welcoming, dog-friendly attitude and friendly staff who make an effort to accommodate visitors warmly. Outdoor seating is available for sunnier days, perfect for a slow morning or afternoon in warmer months. The practical touches like fresh tap water on arrival and clean facilities show attention to detail that complements the food and drink offerings.

For those in Stavanger looking for a refined but relaxed café environment that balances modern, plant-focused dining with good coffee and a soothing vibe, Kafe Oransjeriet fits that niche well. Mid-mornings and early afternoons seem to be when the space feels most alive but not frantic, making it a solid choice for locals and travelers craving an unhurried experience away from busier, more tourist-heavy spots.

The coffee was perfect and the chocolate banana bread was just amazing! We came on a Sunday early afternoon, the whole of Stavanger was dead quiet and here it was very cozy with the right level of lively atmosphere

The ambience of the place is beyond magical. Perfect place for working, or catching up on a coffee. I have tried their Matcha latte. Both iced and hot; both are great and i crave theirs everyday. I also tried the scrambled tofu; from my experience not everyone knows how to cook tofu; but theirs? Amazing.

Kafé Oransjeriet is a truly special place — a peaceful, plant-based haven where you can enjoy delicious food completely guilt-free. Every dish is full of flavour, beautifully prepared, and made with so much care that you can taste it in every bite. The atmosphere is magical. The stunning glass walls let in soft natural light and open up to a view of the garden, where you can sit back, sip your coffee, and watch the birds outside. It feels like stepping into a little oasis, far from the rush of everyday life. The staff are warm, kind, and always welcoming, which makes each visit feel personal and heartwarming. Kafe Oransjeriet has quickly become one of my favourite places — a gem I’m always happy to return to.

I would give six stars if I could! Very friendly staff that speaks great English. Dog friendly, our Labrador mix was allowed in as well and he was immediately brought some water. There’s outdoor seating as well. Spacious, modern restaurant, clean bathroom, and most importantly, delicious food! Tap water served for free as soon as you are seated. Quite affordable for Norwegian standards!

One of the best spots around! We visited the place only twice during our stay but if we only could, we definitely would make it a long term morning routine! Despite us stepping in the very moment they opened, everyone was so kind, friendly and full of energy! We tried coffee, matcha latte and chai latte along with some banana bread and everything was top notch! Shame we couldn't try the breakfast menu but our time was very limited and breakfasts are being served starting from 10 AM. The place itself is very spacious, yet very cozy. Water carafes placed in the middle are a very appreciated addition! Manuel (the manager) is a great guy and we wish we had a chance to chat more! Bottomline is this is a must-visit when in Stavanger!

We stepped into the place and were warm welcomed by the friendliest barista. We ordered oatmeal and a wasabi bread and it came very fast and was extremely nice and filling. Their go to milk is oat-milk (amazing!) and they have different kinds of special lattes. Ambiente was amazing and one of the waiters (if not the owner) spoke German and gave us an advice for the rest of our trip.

I just stopped by this place for a coffee and ordered a caffè mocha. I’m not sure exactly what they did with it – I think they might have used almond milk – but it was incredibly unique and absolutely delicious (10/10). The service was excellent as well – the server even asked if I wanted water and brought me a glass along with my coffee, which was a really nice touch. The atmosphere inside was minimalist, almost like stepping into an IKEA showroom, yet still cozy and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a coffee lover.

We went here for brunch and had the lemon pancakes, banh mi sandwich, kale Caesar salad, and scrambled tofu. Everything was very fresh and tasty - we ate every last crumb. I would highly recommend and definitely go back.
